Personality:
Being a silent protagonist, Mario is light on personality. On the surface (I had to say that at least one, right?). Mario's personality might not come out in his words, but it certainly shines through in his actions. As expected, Mario is an altruistic character who can be relied on to save the day. That doesn't mean he has other ideas, but if you want your game to go anywhere, you always pick the nicer options.

Aside from his strong jumping skills (phys, obviously) and ability to use certain power-ups (Fire Flower/Fire Mario = Fire; Ice Flower/Ice Mario = Ice; POW = Earth; Invincibility Star = broken broken broken and also mind probably), Mario is one sturdy piece of paper! He can survive being crumpled up, doused in water, paperclipped, set on fire, frozen, and many other horrible things--as long as his HP doesn't drop to zero. Then it's Game Over!
